Jaguars Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

The Jaguars may have just two holdover wide receivers from the 2008 squad when they open this year’s regular season in Indianapolis.

Unless the club picks up a released veteran between now and the opener, Jacksonville will likely have six receivers on the roster with the following identity. One veteran (Torry Holt) who some are saying doesn’t have the moves anymore that earned him half a dozen trips to the Pro Bowl, two other receivers (Mike Walker and Troy Williamson) who missed a combined 15 games due to injuries last year and who caught a combined 21 passes in 17 games, and three rookies who will play in their first NFL game.

That’s a group that won’t scare a lot of opposing defenders right now.

Did the Jacksonville Jaguars Need a Backup Safety More Than a Wide Receiver?

It’s official, Jaguar fans. Jacksonville finalized the trade that sent wide receiver Dennis Northcutt to Detroit for safety Gerald Alexander.

The over/under 64

His first name stands out — but not nearly as much as his game. It’s too bad many haven’t noticed.

Jaguars Confidence Rating: QB
Before any team starts a season, there are always a handful of questions to answer. How will the quarterback play be? Will your top players stay injury free? Does your team have enough depth to overcome injuries?

2009 Jags Season Should be Judged Differently
There is very rarely a such thing as a moral victory in professional sports. Front office personnel, players, and franchises in general are judged by the bottom line which is wins and losses. I’m a firm believer in that line of thinking, and that’s why it’s difficult for me to type this next statement—the Jaguars 2009 season shouldn’t be judged by their win/loss record.

O-line Shouldn’t be a Question for Jags
There’s a cliché adage that floats around the football world and it goes a little something like this; “the offensive line is the most important unit in football.”
